Make your own fused glass nightlight with a design you create from pieces of colored glass on a rectangular base. Your artful design will be fused together in a kiln to create a single, durable piece. You will learn to use hand tools to cut and shape glass, as well as techniques for using different forms of glass and layering. The final piece is attached to a nightlight base with a brass clip. Each nightlight has an on/off switch allowing you to control when it is in use. In addition to the nightlight, students will create a suncatcher, a cheerful piece designed to add a little brightness to both day and night.
Please note: Safety glasses will be provided during class. Closed-toe shoes are mandatory, and clothing should cover your legs to at least the knees. You may bring beverages in closed containers to the worktables, but food is not permitted.
