Turn glass into something beautiful and a little bit magical. In this hands-on class, design and create your own glass wind chimes, choosing the size, thickness, and spacing to shape both the sound and the look. Learn how to safely cut and refine glass using specialized tools, then assemble your pieces into a finished chime that feels uniquely yours. A beaded hanger adds the final touch, so you’ll leave with something ready to brighten your home or garden (and make every breeze a little more interesting).
Please note: Safety glasses will be provided and are required during class. Closed-toe shoes are mandatory, and clothing should cover your legs to at least the knees. Beverages in closed containers are welcome at the worktables; food is not permitted.
This class is appropriate for ages 13+. Students under 18 may only attend only with parental permission.
This class will be held at Light My Candle Co., located inside Village Gate at 274 N. Goodman Street, Suite B130, Rochester, NY 14607. Parking is available in the Village Gate lot. For easiest access, enter near the Gate House and follow the interior signs to Light My Candle Co.
If you would like to request a sign language interpreter, will be attending class with an aide, or have any preferences (seating, vision access, etc), please fill out our contact form.
Class ticket purchases are non-refundable for any reason. A transfer into a different class of equal or greater value may be granted if requested at least 72 hours prior to the class date. Students are always welcome to have someone attend in their place, too!
While we know this is not always ideal, as a small business this is the only way we can ensure our teachers are paid for their time and supplies and our venues are paid rent for their space. We appreciate your support!

Meet the Teacher
After years in corporate, Laura Allen-Pannell has happily rekindled her creative roots. With a degree in Packaging Science and Design, her background blends structural design, mixed media, and hands-on experimentation with her fused glass artistry. Laura discovered her love of glass in 2019 and now works across stained glass, fused glass, mosaics, and the occasional hot-glass adventure. Glass is her main medium, but she’s always exploring other creative outlets that keep her curiosity sparked. She began teaching in 2022 and now shares her passion for glass art with makers across Western New York. In her classes, find a welcoming, creative space where beginners and seasoned crafters alike can play, learn, and leave with something beautiful!
