Ready to let the light shine through your creativity? In this hands-on class, you’ll design your own glass-on-glass mosaic—a stunning piece that glows and shimmers just like stained glass! Learn the essentials of mosaic art, including how to cut and shape glass by hand, use specialized tools safely, and create a translucent design that comes to life when light passes through. You’ll leave with a one-of-a-kind piece that sparkles in any window and a whole new appreciation for this luminous art form.
Please note: Safety glasses are required and will be available to borrow, or feel free to bring your own. For your protection, please wear closed-toe shoes and clothing that covers your legs at least to the knees. Beverages in closed containers are welcome at worktables, but food is not permitted.
This class is appropriate for ages 13+. Parent or guardian sign-off is required for students under 16.
This class will be held at Light My Candle Co., located inside Village Gate at 274 N. Goodman Street, Suite B130, Rochester, NY 14607. Parking is available in the Village Gate lot. For easiest access, enter near the Gate House and follow the interior signs to Light My Candle Co.
If you would like to request a sign language interpreter, will be attending class with an aide, or have any preferences (seating, vision access, etc), please fill out our contact form.
Class ticket purchases are non-refundable for any reason. A transfer into a different class of equal or greater value may be granted if requested at least 72 hours prior to the class date. Students are always welcome to have someone attend in their place, too!
While we know this is not always ideal, as a small business this is the only way we can ensure our teachers are paid for their time and supplies and our venues are paid rent for their space. We appreciate your support!
