In this introductory crash course on crocheting, students will learn basic crochet skills as well as the ability to read crochet patterns. This workshop will primarily focus on chaining, the single crochet stitch, the double crochet stitch, and creating a magic circle. In addition to mechanics, this class will also discuss the most sustainable and ethically produced yarns; brands that are fair trade, recycled, and/or local.

The recommended age for this class is 14+.

This class will take place at Rochester Brainery, located at 176 Anderson Ave F109, Rochester NY 14607.

About the teacher:
Strawberry Payne is a mother, a pastry chef  in the vegan community, and a life-long artist and DIY crafter.  Putting an emphasis on reuse and up-cycling of materials, they love to make practical items with an artistic and environmentally friendly twist.  Since moving to Rochester two years ago, they have made it a mission to share their expertise in sustainable crochet and other fiber arts with their new community.
