Interested in the beginning properties of watercolor painting and looking to create a beautiful illustrative study perfect for your kitchen? In this class, find inspiration from our favorite summer fruits: the strawberry, watermelon, and kiwi. This beginner-friendly class breaks down the foundational techniques of "wet on wet" watercolor painting and how we can work in layers to create depth, dimension, and detail. Our focus will be on shapes, compositional placement, and capturing the essence of our fruit's iconic silhouette, color, and seeds. Work with warm-up exercises and an included handbook to use in your everyday watercolor practice during and after class. Then, design a fruit study painting that breaks down the fruit's different segments, textures, and overall shapes!
This class is appropriate for ages 14+.
This class will take place at Arc + Flame Center, located at 125 Fedex Way, Rochester, NY 14624.
If you would like to request a sign language interpreter, will be attending class with an aide, or have any preferences (seating, vision access, etc), please fill out our contact form. Arc + Flame Center is fully ADA accessible.
Class ticket purchases are non-refundable for any reason. A transfer into a different class of equal or greater value may be granted if requested at least 72 hours prior to the class date. Students are always welcome to have someone attend in their place, too!
While we know this is not always ideal, as a small business this is the only way we can ensure our teachers are paid for their time and supplies and our venues are paid rent for their space. We appreciate your support!
