Turn raw steel into bold, one-of-a-kind art in this hands-on welded metal sculpture workshop! Using plasma cutting and MIG welding techniques, you’ll transform scrap metal, hardware, and pre-cut shapes into a dynamic three-dimensional piece that’s uniquely yours. Whether you’re drawn to abstract forms, industrial creatures, or functional art, this class will guide you through the process—from concept to finished sculpture. Students should arrive with a sketch of their idea, ready to bring it to life with sparks flying and metal fusing. No matter your experience level, you’ll learn essential welding skills, safe tool handling, and creative metal design in an energetic, supportive environment. Come ready to cut, weld, and create—leave with a sculpture forged by your own hands!
Please note: Students should arrive with a sketch of their idea, ready to bring it to life with sparks flying and metal fusing.
This class is appropriate for ages 18+.
This class will take place at Arc + Flame Center, located at 125 Fedex Way, Rochester, NY 14624.
If you would like to request a sign language interpreter, will be attending class with an aide, or have any preferences (seating, vision access, etc), please fill out our contact form.
Class ticket purchases are non-refundable for any reason. A transfer into a different class of equal or greater value may be granted if requested at least 72 hours prior to the class date. Students are always welcome to have someone attend in their place, too!
While we know this is not always ideal, as a small business this is the only way we can ensure our teachers are paid for their time and supplies and our venues are paid rent for their space. We appreciate your support!
