Tuesday, September 22nd | 6:30pm-8:00pm | Learn To Make Empanadas

Most countries have their own version of meat or cheese in some kind of dough. Whether it’s called pierogi, dumplings or ravioli, every culture craves this combo. Latin America’s answer is the Empanada! In this class students will learn how to make both meat and sweet empanadas, as well as their own dough. Come to fill up, learn something new, and maybe dance to a little Celia Cruz! Everyone will have a hands-on learning experience and will leave with all the recipes created in class.

Please note: Students will be standing for most of the class.

The recommended age for this class is 18+.

This class will take place at Eat Me Ice Cream located inside The Hungerford Building at 1115 East Main St. Suite 148. Please enter through Door 1.

About the teacher:
Christin Ortiz has been working in restaurants since she was 19. Starting in the front of the house, she realized early on she preferred the back of the house. Having worked in different kitchens, she is most proficient in Italian and Hispanic cuisine. Most recently Christin ran the food program at Joe Bean Roastery, where she focused the menu on her Latin-American heritage. She loves sharing her passion for food, and wants everyone to be able to cook the food they crave!
