Tuesday, June 7th | 6:30pm-8:00pm | Learn to Make Empanadas

Most cultures have their own version of a dish that features meat or cheese wrapped in dough; whether it’s pierogi, dumplings, or ravioli. Latin America’s answer is the empanada! In this class, you will learn how to make both meat and sweet empanadas as well as your own dough. Students will have a hands-on learning experience and leave with all the recipes created in class.

Please note: Participants will have the option to eat during this class. If you would prefer to eat at home, please bring a to-go container with you. Students will be standing during this class, however a limited number of stools will be available. Gluten-free and vegetarian options are available upon request prior to class.

This class is appropriate for ages 18+.

This class will take place at Eat Me Ice Cream located inside The Hungerford Building at 1115 East Main St. Suite 148. Please enter through Door 1.

About the teacher:
Christin Ortiz has been working in restaurants since she was 19. Starting in the front of the house, she realized early on she preferred the back of the house. Having worked in different kitchens, she is most proficient in Italian and Hispanic cuisine. Most recently Christin ran the food program at Joe Bean Roastery, where she focused the menu on her Latin-American heritage. She loves sharing her passion for food, and wants everyone to be able to cook the food they crave!
