Dive into the mesmerizing world of glass! In this hands-on flame workshop, you’ll work with borosilicate glass and an open flame to learn core techniques like shaping, stretching, gathering, cutting, and fusing colorful glass rods into beautiful designs. Create up to five pieces—including teardrops, hearts, and leaves—while following a mix of demos and guided practice that keeps things fun, creative, and beginner-friendly.
Please note: Breakfast snacks and lunch will be provided. Finished pieces will be ready for pickup within 1 week after class to ensure safe annealing and avoid damage. Please contact us at least 72 hours in advance with any dietary allergies or restrictions. Students are permitted to bring their own lunch and snacks if they prefer.
This class is appropriate for ages 18+.
This class will take place at Arc + Flame Center, located at 125 Fedex Way, Rochester, NY 14624.
If you would like to request a sign language interpreter, will be attending class with an aide, or have any preferences (seating, vision access, etc), please fill out our contact form. Arc + Flame Center is fully ADA accessible.
Class ticket purchases are non-refundable for any reason. A transfer into a different class of equal or greater value may be granted if requested at least 72 hours prior to the class date. Students are always welcome to have someone attend in their place, too!
While we know this is not always ideal, as a small business this is the only way we can ensure our teachers are paid for their time and supplies and our venues are paid rent for their space. We appreciate your support!
