Curious about making your own jewelry but not sure where to begin? This beginner-friendly class is a hands-on introduction to the tools, techniques, and creative possibilities of jewelry making—no prior experience required. You’ll learn to saw, file, sand, and shape metal, explore cold connections and basic soldering, and even try your hand at simple stone setting. Over six weeks, you’ll complete two guided projects (with a chance for a third) as you build skills and confidence step by step. Expect a relaxed, supportive environment where experimentation is encouraged, and questions are always welcome. Some materials are included, with additional supplies available for purchase during class.
Please note: This class is a 6-week workshop. Students must be available on April 14th, April 21st, April 28th, May 5th, May 12th, and May 19th, from 9:30 AM - 11:30 AM.
This class is appropriate for ages 16+.
This class will take place at Arc + Flame Center, located at 125 Fedex Way, Rochester, NY 14624.
If you would like to request a sign language interpreter, will be attending class with an aide, or have any preferences (seating, vision access, etc), please fill out our contact form.
Class ticket purchases are non-refundable for any reason. A transfer into a different class of equal or greater value may be granted if requested at least 72 hours prior to the class date. Students are always welcome to have someone attend in their place, too!
While we know this is not always ideal, as a small business this is the only way we can ensure our teachers are paid for their time and supplies and our venues are paid rent for their space. We appreciate your support!
