Learn the basics of tapestry weaving with a simple lesson on basket or plain weave and an emphasis on texture, fringe, and pattern. Class will begin with a demonstration on how to create different patterns, then students will have the rest of class to work on and finish their unique wall hanging!Please note: This is not an introduction to European Tapestry woven prior to the twentieth century.Age:This class is appropriate for ages 18+.Location:This class will take place at Figgy Studio & Shop, located at 251 Park Ave, Rochester NY 14607.Accessibility:If you would like to request a sign language interpreter or will be attending class with an aide, please fill out our contact form. Classes will take place on the 2nd Floor of Figgy Studio & Shop which is only accessible by stairs.About the teacher:Courtney Craig is a surface designer who enjoys the studio environment and creating custom textiles for interior spaces. Elements of vintage, contemporary, and traditional design are her favorites to explore.
