As summer gives way to autumn and golden light settles across the landscape, this forest bathing walk offers space to notice change and transition. During this two-hour experience on the Southern Meadow Trail at Mendon Ponds Park, you’ll explore a gentle, mindful way of being in the woods, quite different from an ordinary hike—no water involved! Forest “bathing” is about immersing yourself in the sights, sounds, and sensations of the forest rather than tracking distance or identifying every plant and bird. Through flexible, guided invitations, you’ll slow down, awaken your senses, and reflect on the shifts in the season and in yourself. You’ll close with light snacks and time to gather your thoughts before heading back into your day.
Please note: This class is an active walking tour, approximately 1 mile on natural terrain. Dress for the weather and wear comfortable walking shoes. The rain date is September 20th from 9:00AM–11:00AM.
This class is appropriate for ages 18+.
This class will begin at the entrance of the Southern Meadows Trail in Mendon ponds Park. Parking is available at the Southern Meadow lot on Mendon Center Road. Please follow this link for directions.
If you would like to request a sign language interpreter, will be attending class with an aide, or have any preferences (seating, vision access, etc), please fill out our contact form.
Class ticket purchases are non-refundable for any reason. A transfer into a different class of equal or greater value may be granted if requested at least 72 hours prior to the class date. Students are always welcome to have someone attend in their place, too!
While we know this is not always ideal, as a small business this is the only way we can ensure our teachers are paid for their time and supplies and our venues are paid rent for their space. We appreciate your support!

Meet the Teacher
Lauren Mohn holds a PhD in Botany and is a Certified Nature and Forest Therapy Guide through the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy (ANFT). After years in ethnobotanical research, teaching, and outreach, she came to learn that the core of her work has always been supporting others in deepening connections with the natural world. She co-founded Lilac Nature Connection with Elio Lewis to focus on this more directly. As a forest bathing guide, Lauren offers space for people to slow down and reconnect with nature in ways we’re all capable of, ways that can support both our wellbeing and the wellbeing of the land.
