Build a strong foundation in jewelry making with this four-week, hands-on introduction to essential bench techniques. You'll learn how to safely and confidently use common jeweler's tools, work efficiently at a jeweler's bench, and practice fundamental skills such as soldering while exploring one to two new techniques each week. Designed for beginners, this technique-focused class provides the knowledge and hands-on experience needed to begin creating your own jewelry with confidence.
Please Note: This is a four-session class. Students must be available Thursday, 9/3, 9/10, 9/17 and 9/24 from 6:00PM-9:00PM. Brass is included for all class projects, and silver will be available for purchase on site for those who wish to continue exploring their designs.
What to Bring & Wear: For your safety, please wear closed-toe shoes and avoid loose-fitting clothing. Pants or skirts that extend to at least the knee are recommended. If you wear glasses for close-up work, please bring them to class. If you have hair past your shoulders, please arrive with it tied back or bring something to tie it back with.
This class is appropriate for ages 14+.
This class will take place at Arc + Flame Center, located at 125 Fedex Way, Rochester, NY 14624.
If you would like to request a sign language interpreter, will be attending class with an aide, or have any preferences (seating, vision access, etc), please fill out our contact form. Arc + Flame Center is fully ADA accessible.
Class ticket purchases are non-refundable for any reason. A transfer into a different class of equal or greater value may be granted if requested at least 72 hours prior to the class date. Students are always welcome to have someone attend in their place, too!
While we know this is not always ideal, as a small business this is the only way we can ensure our teachers are paid for their time and supplies and our venues are paid rent for their space. We appreciate your support!
