Create and take home both a solid shampoo bar and a solid conditioner bar in this hands-on workshop. Working in small groups, participants will rotate between two stations to measure, mix, customize, and pour each formula. The shampoo bar begins with a prepared base and can be personalized with fragrance and color, while the conditioner bar is made from scratch using conditioning waxes, plant butters, and a choice of oils suited to different hair types. Learn about each ingredient, proper product use, and techniques for creating solid hair-care products at home. Once cooled, both bars will be removed from their molds and packaged in display boxes, along with a small take-home sample bag.
This class is appropriate for ages 12+. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Please purchase one ticket for each person attending.
This class will take place at Arc + Flame Center, located at 125 Fedex Way, Rochester, NY 14624.
If you would like to request a sign language interpreter, will be attending class with an aide, or have any preferences (seating, vision access, etc), please fill out our contact form.
Class ticket purchases are non-refundable for any reason. A transfer into a different class of equal or greater value may be granted if requested at least 72 hours prior to the class date. Students are always welcome to have someone attend in their place, too!
While we know this is not always ideal, as a small business this is the only way we can ensure our teachers are paid for their time and supplies and our venues are paid rent for their space. We appreciate your support!

Meet the Teacher
Danielle Sanford is the owner of Plastic Free Curiosities, where she has spent the past six years handcrafting eco-friendly home goods, skincare, and haircare products, and she is also co-owner of Monroe Mushroom Co. She has loved crafting and creating for as long as she can remember, and by age 10 she was already searching for lip balm recipes, dreaming up packaging, and imagining products she could someday sell. With degrees in Business and Horticulture, Danielle now gets to turn that lifelong creativity into real products while continuing to learn and experiment every day. She loves sharing what she has learned and helping others leave class with something beautiful theyโre proud to have made themselves.
