As winter approaches and the forest grows quiet, this forest bathing walk invites you to slow down and find nourishment in both nature and community. Spend two unhurried hours on the Birdsong Fairy Trail at Mendon Ponds Park exploring a gentle, mindful way of being in the woods, quite different from your typical hike—no water involved! Forest “bathing” is about immersing yourself in the sights, sounds, and sensations of the forest rather than tracking miles or identifying every plant and bird. Through flexible, guided invitations, you’ll awaken your senses, reflect, and arrive fully in the present moment as we wander at an easy pace. Class will close with light snacks and time to reflect before heading back into the season ahead.
Please note: This class is an active walking tour, approximately 1 mile on natural terrain. Dress for the weather and wear comfortable walking shoes. The rain date is Sunday, December 20th from 9:00 AM–11:00 AM.
This class is appropriate for ages 18+.
This class will take place at Mendon Ponds Park class and will begin at the southern end of the Mendon Ponds West parking lot near Birdsong Fairy Trail. Please follow this link for directions.
If you would like to request a sign language interpreter, will be attending class with an aide, or have any preferences (seating, vision access, etc), please fill out our contact form.
Class ticket purchases are non-refundable for any reason. A transfer into a different class of equal or greater value may be granted if requested at least 72 hours prior to the class date. Students are always welcome to have someone attend in their place, too!
While we know this is not always ideal, as a small business this is the only way we can ensure our teachers are paid for their time and supplies and our venues are paid rent for their space. We appreciate your support!

Meet the Teacher
Lauren Mohn holds a PhD in Botany and is a Certified Nature and Forest Therapy Guide through the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy (ANFT). After years in ethnobotanical research, teaching, and outreach, she came to learn that the core of her work has always been supporting others in deepening connections with the natural world. She co-founded Lilac Nature Connection with Elio Lewis to focus on this more directly. As a forest bathing guide, Lauren offers space for people to slow down and reconnect with nature in ways we’re all capable of, ways that can support both our wellbeing and the wellbeing of the land.
