All Rochester Brainery class tickets are non-refundable for any reason, including but not limited to non-attendance, scheduling conflicts, illness, or personal emergencies.

Transfers
A transfer into a different class of equal or greater value may be granted if requested at least 72 hours prior to the scheduled class start time. Transfer requests made within 72 hours of the class are not guaranteed.

Substitutions
If you are unable to attend, you are always welcome to send someone in your place at no additional cost.

Cancellations by Brainery
In the rare event that Brainery must cancel a class, registrants will be offered either:

  • A transfer into a future class of equal value, or
  • A refund, as required by applicable New York State law.

It is your responsibility to know the date, time, location and any other pertinent information regarding your class. By purchasing a ticket, you acknowledge and agree to this policy at the time of sale.

Blacksmithing: Forged Bottle Opener Experience

Class Description

Host a one-of-a-kind private event with this hands-on blacksmithing workshop, perfect for team builders, celebrations, or special group gatherings. Whether you're bringing together coworkers, friends, or family, this interactive experience is designed to spark creativity, collaboration, and plenty of fun at the forge.

Using heat, hammer, and traditional blacksmithing tools, each participant will shape and forge their own handmade bottle opener from steel. You’ll learn essential hammer control, texturing techniques, and how to transform glowing metal into a functional, stylish tool. No prior experience is needed, just bring your group and a willingness to try something new.

By the end of the session, everyone will leave with a unique hand-forged bottle opener, ready for the next celebration, along with lasting memories of a truly hands-on shared experience.

What You Need to Wear/Prepare:
Closed-toe shoes and comfortable, non-synthetic clothing (such as cotton or denim) are required for safety. Long pants are strongly recommended. All safety gear and materials are provided.

Skill Level / Physical Level:
Beginner-friendly. Moderate physical activity involving standing, hammering, and working with heated metal under instructor supervision.

  • Heat and shape steel using traditional blacksmithing techniques
  • Learn hammer control and basic forging skills
  • Texture and form metal into a functional bottle opener
