Turn a simple piece of metal into a modern necklace made entirely by you! In this hands-on jewelry-making class, youโll learn the fundamentals of metalsmithing while creating an elegantly simple line necklace from start to finish. Explore essential techniques including forming and texturing wire, drilling holes, and assembling chain as you discover how individual components come together to create a finished piece of wearable art. Along the way, youโll gain practical skills and an introduction to the tools and techniques used by jewelry makers. Leave with a handmade necklace ready to wearโand the satisfaction of saying, โI made this!โ No prior jewelry-making experience is needed. Beginners are welcome!
Please note: Select your preferred metal from the drop-down menu. If your desired option isnโt listed but tickets are still available, contact us.ย This class is best for those who have completed a beginner metalsmithing class (or have similar experience) and feel comfortable using a jewelerโs saw and torch.
What to Bring & Wear: For your safety, please wear closed-toe shoes and avoid loose-fitting clothing. Pants or skirts that extend to at least the knee are recommended. If you wear glasses for close-up work, please bring them to class. If you have hair past your shoulders, please arrive with it tied back or bring something to tie it back with.
This class is appropriate for ages 14+.
This class will take place at Arc + Flame Center, located at 125 Fedex Way, Rochester, NY 14624.

Class ticket purchases are non-refundable for any reason. A transfer into a different class of equal or greater value may be granted if requested at least 72 hours prior to the class date. Students are always welcome to have someone attend in their place, too!
While we know this is not always ideal, as a small business this is the only way we can ensure our teachers are paid for their time and supplies and our venues are paid rent for their space. We appreciate your support!
