Explore Ayurveda, a traditional system of well-being, through food, daily rhythms, and simple practices for everyday life. Students will learn about the doshas and how Ayurveda connects qualities found in nature with individual patterns and constitutions. Hands-on practices will offer opportunities to notice the bodyโs signals and explore small adjustments to daily routines. The class will include a warm bowl of kitchari, a traditional Ayurvedic meal, alongside a discussion of its ingredients and ways to adapt the dish for different needs. Gentle movement breaks will complement time spent seated on yoga mats. No previous experience with Ayurveda or cooking is necessary.
Please Note: Please wear comfortable clothing and plan to arrive 5-10 minutes early to get settled in before class begins. Yoga mats, chairs, blankets, and bolsters will be provided for your use. You are welcome to bring a sealed water bottle and any personal props or comfort items that will help you feel more at ease during the session.
This class is appropriate for ages 18+.
This class will take place at Lavender Fields Yoga, located at 6519 Dantz Road, Groveland, NY 14462.
If you would like to request a sign language interpreter, will be attending class with an aide, or have any preferences (seating, vision access, etc.), please fill out our contact form.
Class ticket purchases are non-refundable for any reason. A transfer into a different class of equal or greater value may be granted if requested at least 72 hours prior to the class date. Students are always welcome to have someone attend in their place, too!
While we know this is not always ideal, as a small business this is the only way we can ensure our teachers are paid for their time and supplies and our venues are paid rent for their space. We appreciate your support!

Christianne Asper-Contant, CAS, E-RYT 500, has spent more than two decades exploring how we experience ourselves through the intersecting lenses of psychology, Ayurveda, and yoga. Her work begins with a simple recognition: the body is always communicating. Rather than offering another set of rules to follow, Christianne helps people become better observers of their own experienceโlearning to notice patterns, recognize what supports them, and participate more fully in their own well-being.
She is a longtime Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist, yoga teacher, and educator. As steward of Assisi Yoga in Rochester, New York, she helps cultivate a place where yoga is practiced in community and in relationship with real life. Through Well-Being Compass, she offers individual work and guided experiences designed to help people listen, respond, and return to their natural rhythm.
